Xiaomi Pengpai OS update: Note 12 and more devices to get it in 2024

According to Tinydeal, Xiaomi launched the 14 series flagship at MWC 2024. After the event, foreign media received a detailed update schedule for the Xiaomi Pengpai OS update.

Reports state that this new system is built on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Xiaomi’s Vela IoT platform. It will first appear on the Xiaomi 14 series, Xiaomi Tablet 6S Pro, Xiaomi Watch S3, and Xiaomi Bracelet 8 Pro.

At the same time, Xiaomi confirmed a list of older smartphones and tablets set to receive the Pengpai OS update. Foreign media noted that the launch schedule will vary by device and region. The rollout is expected to begin in the first half of 2024, though the exact timing remains unclear. Over time, more Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco products are expected to be added to the list.

Several Xiaomi and Redmi devices will receive the Xiaomi Pengpai OS update. The list includes multiple models across different series:

  • Xiaomi 12 Series: This includes Xiaomi 12, 12 Youth Edition, 12 Pro, 12T, 12T Pro, and 12X.
  • Xiaomi 13 Series: Users with Xiaomi 13, 13 Youth Edition, 13 Pro, 13 Ultra, 13T, and 13T Pro can also expect the update.
  • Redmi Note 12 & 13 Series: Supported models range from Redmi Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G, and Note 12 Pro+ 5G to Note 13 4G, Note 13 5G, Note 13 Pro 4G, Note 13 Pro 5G, and Note 13 Pro+ 5G.
  • Tablets: The update will also extend to Redmi Pad SE.

Previously, Lu Weibing revealed that Xiaomi’s Paper OS now connects over 823 million devices worldwide. In Europe, Xiaomi aims to cover 30 million devices this year. The long-term goal is to reach 100 million.
