In terms of configuration, the new PC uses the latest Intel Core Ultra processor. This upgrade is the most significant for these two products. The Surface Pro 10 features the Core Ultra 5 135U or Core Ultra 7 165U chip. In contrast, the previous commercial version of the Surface Pro 9 was equipped with the Core i5-1245U or i7-1265U chips. This CPU upgrade shows that Microsoft has skipped the 13th-generation chip. Instead, they moved directly from the outdated 12th-generation chip to the newly launched Core Ultra chip.

It is worth mentioning that these two computers also have the core “brain” of the Surface artificial intelligence computers era. This component accelerates the execution of AI tasks: the neural network processing unit (NPU). Through NPU integration, users gain AI capabilities such as Windows Studio Effects and real-time subtitles. Additionally, it allows enterprises and developers to build their own AI applications and experiences.

With the AI-assisted Windows Studio effect, users can enable the automatic viewing feature. This keeps the user’s face centered in the picture while blurring the background. Both AI PCs also feature a brand-new keyboard layout with dedicated CoPilot keys.

These two latest AI PCs from Microsoft will be available on April 9. The starting price is $1,199.
