[ Tinydeal Technology News]According to Tinydeal’s blog, Korean media recently reported that Samsung’s smartphone and tablet production is expected to reach 49.9 million units in the second quarter of 2024. This excludes cooperative production with China Wingtech Technology and others. The number of mobile phones produced by JDM is 3% higher than the previously planned 48.3 million units.

In the first quarter, Samsung produced 64.5 million smartphones and tablets. This was 22% more than the original plan of 52.9 million units. Adding the expected production for the first and second quarters, Samsung’s total production in the first half of the year is projected to reach 114.4 million units. This is a 13% increase from the planned 101.2 million units.
Reports suggest that Samsung’s first-quarter production exceeded expectations by 22%. This was due to effective AI marketing of the S24 series mobile phones. Additionally, there was growth in sales of low-priced mobile phones in the Indian market.
Korean media noted that, despite exceeding production plans in the first half of the year, Samsung may cut production in the third quarter. This is to protect profit margins. Apart from the new foldable phone launching in July, no other high-margin products are expected in the third quarter.
