IDC expects shipments to fall again by 9.8% in 2023 as unsold inventory and sluggish demand dragged the market down. There should be a slight recovery in 2024, and as inventory improves, shipments will exceed pre-epidemic levels. After 2024, IDC expects the market to stabilize further based on the larger installation base and growth of gaming monitors created by the hybrid work.

Global PC shipments from 2016 to 2022

In fact, the PC market has declined since 2012, but compared with the continued decline in the mobile phone market, the shipments of the PC market were basically at the same level in the years before the outbreak of the epidemic, and were in a relatively stable state, except from 2020 to 2021.
