On October 19, Intel, a world-renowned semiconductor company, announced the official launch of its first “AI PC Acceleration Plan”. The Tinydeallearned that the program aims to unite independent hardware vendors (IHVs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) to bring artificial intelligence (AI) features to more than 1 million personal computers (PCs) by 2025. This move marks Intel’s active promotion of PC intelligence to meet the growing demand for AI applications.

It is understood that Intel Core Ultra processors will promote the implementation of this plan. The processor will be available on December 14 and has attracted much attention for being Intel’s first processor that includes a neural processing unit (NPU). NPU is a processor designed specifically to accelerate AI workloads and works similarly to GPU-accelerating gaming tasks. For example, in Video Chat Studio Effects for Windows 11, NPUs can be used to implement background blur functionality.
Intel’s plan is supported by many partners, including Adobe, Audacity, BlackMagic, BufferZone, CyberLink, DeepRender, Fortemedia, MAGIX, Rewind AI, Skylum, Topaz, VideoCom, Webex, Wondershare Filmora, Xsplit, and Zoom. These partners will work with Intel in their respective fields to jointly promote the AIization process of PCs.
Media analysis said that Intel’s move is undoubtedly a major innovation in the PC market. With the continuous development and application of AI technology, the functions of PC are also constantly expanding and upgrading. Intel’s “AI PC Acceleration Plan” will help promote the further development of the PC market.
