Recently, Guokr’s Interesting Laboratory conducted an exciting challenge on the streets of Beijing, comparing the picture quality of domestic TVs powered by ULEDX technology and imported OLED models. More than 200 passers-by participated in the experiment, choosing the TV they thought had the best picture quality. The results were impressive and showed a shift in consumer preferences toward domestic technology, particularly Hisense’s ULEDX innovation.

Consumer Preferences: Domestic vs. Imported Brands
Before the experiment, 70% of respondents expressed a preference for foreign brands when purchasing high-end TVs. However, 30% of respondents believed domestic technology had already caught up, with some even claiming it had surpassed imported brands. This insight highlights the growing confidence in domestic TV technology, which was further demonstrated in the blind test.
Key Picture Quality Features Consumers Value
During the survey, all participants identified key characteristics that matter most when selecting a high-quality TV. These features included:
- Detail presentation
- Three-dimensional picture
- Color reproduction
- Screen brightness
- Wide-angle viewing experience
These factors were crucial in the decision-making process when evaluating the picture quality of TVs.

Blind Test: Domestic TV Outshines Imported TV
In the blind test, participants were shown two 65-inch models – one from Hisense (a domestic brand) and another from a foreign OLED flagship brand. Both TVs were set to standard image mode and displayed the same source in a home environment with lighting ranging from 50Lux to 500Lux. The difference in picture quality between the two TVs was immediately noticeable.
TV A, which was the Hisense ULEDX U8H, displayed superior picture layering, clarity, brightness, color saturation, and viewing angles. TV B, the imported OLED model, failed to match the immersive experience offered by the U8H. This led to a landslide victory for Hisense in the picture quality contest.

Results: Hisense U8H Wins Over 80% of Votes
The voting results showed that the Hisense ULEDX U8H was the overwhelming favorite, receiving more than 80% of the votes. Many participants were impressed by the picture quality, with comments such as:
- “I thought A was an OLED TV, but I didn’t expect ULEDX to be even better.”
- “A’s picture quality is more three-dimensional.”
- “A’s color gloss and saturation are better.”
- “A’s visual experience is more comfortable.”
The Hisense U8H impressed everyone on site and surpassed OLED technology, leaving a lasting impression.

Innovation in Display Technology: Hisense U8H
According to the survey, the U8H, Hisense’s next-generation ULED flagship, outperformed OLED technology in various aspects. The U8H was developed based on real-world usage scenarios, addressing pain points that users encounter with traditional TVs. The U8H features a groundbreaking 16-bit dimming accuracy (up from 12 bits), allowing for more precise and intelligent light control. This innovation enables the U8H to achieve exceptional brightness and contrast levels, with a stable peak brightness of 2000 nits and ambient light contrast three times higher than that of OLED.
The U8H’s light control capabilities are enhanced by the 1+N distributed driver chip architecture and Hisense’s self-developed 8K AI picture quality chip, which allows for 5 times more precise light control. This breakthrough in light scheduling technology results in an incredible viewing experience, no matter the lighting environment.
Expert Praise for ULEDX Technology
Academician Ouyang Zhongcan has praised Hisense’s innovative advancements in ULED X display technology. He stated, “Hisense’s new generation of ULED X reference-level imaging product U8H is China’s first high-end TV developed based on real user scenarios. It not only surpasses the picture quality of OLED but also gives users an unprecedented immersive experience, raising the picture quality of LCD TVs to an entirely new height.”
The Future of Domestic High-End TVs
This survey highlights a significant shift in consumer preferences toward domestic TV brands like Hisense. With the U8H setting new benchmarks in picture quality and technology, it’s clear that domestic brands are now competing on equal footing with their international counterparts. As more consumers experience the remarkable performance of ULEDX technology, domestic TVs are expected to gain even more market share in the high-end TV segment.
