Apple will launch a foldable MacBook Pro in the future with built-in M5 chip

According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s supply chain report, Apple is actively preparing for the release of this revolutionary product, which is expected to be available in multiple screen sizes such as 18.8-inch and 20.25-inch, and may come to consumers earlier than expected.

The design concept of the foldables MacBook Pro is inspired by the iPad. Its unique foldable mid-section design promises an unprecedented user experience. Although the launch will take time, Apple has already started preparing the supply chain. This ensures the product will be launched smoothly.

LG Display, the exclusive panel supplier, plans to begin mass production of the displays for the foldable MacBook Pro in late 2025 or early 2026. This schedule is at least a year ahead of earlier predictions, highlighting Apple’s focus and determination.

It is reported that the foldable MacBook Pro will be equipped with M5 series chips to provide users with powerful performance support. At the same time, Apple is also committed to solving the crease problem of folding screens. The foldable MacBook Pro will be more expensive due to its unique display and hinge system. Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that the panel and hinge could cost $600 to $650 and $200 to $250, respectively. Despite this, Apple remains confident in the product’s market prospects. They expect shipments to surpass similar products, such as the Apple Vision Pro.

By 2026, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that foldable MacBook Pro shipments could exceed 1 million units. This product release will revitalize Apple’s laptop market and push the entire industry into a new stage of development.
