Recently, an Apple M4 MacBook Pro with a suspected M4 chip appeared in a private Facebook group and was subsequently exposed by a Russian YouTuber. This could be one of the biggest product leaks in Apple’s history.
According to foreign media reports, shortly after YouTuber Wylsacom posted a purported unboxing video of the M4 MacBook Pro, another user Romancev768 also uploaded a similar video.
The MacBook Pro in the video is space black and equipped with 512GB of storage space and 16GB of memory. It’s very similar in box and model to the device that leaked in late September. However, these boxes have some differences from Apple’s current retail packaging, such as the format of the specification stickers is completely different. In addition, the wallpaper on the box is the same as the M3 series, which also makes people doubt whether these packages are authentic.
Apple has never used the “512GB storage + 16GB memory” specification combination in its chip naming, and usually labels the chip model below the device name, such as “14-inch MacBook Pro with Apple M4 Pro chip.” The new stickers have a different layout but still display all the usual regulatory information.
The M4 MacBook Pro in the video has three Thunderbolt ports and is colored space black, and the system information box shows 16GB of RAM and the M4 chip. But this information can also be easily faked. This MacBook Pro looks a lot like the existing Space Black M3 Pro MacBook Pro, except that the memory has been reduced from 18GB to 16 GB.
This may be one of the largest product leaks in Apple’s history, even surpassing the iPhone 4 leak that year, because even the packaging has been exposed this time.
