Apple is making waves in the tech world with plans for a new MacBook Air. After unveiling the 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip at the 2023 Global Developers Conference (WWDC), the company is now focusing on a 15-inch model with the highly anticipated M3 chip. This new MacBook Air is expected to launch in 2024, though the exact release date remains unclear.
What to Expect from the M3 Chip
The MacBook Air with M3 chip is poised to revolutionize Apple’s devices with faster performance and improved efficiency. Alongside the 15-inch MacBook Air, other products like the 13-inch MacBook Pro and a redesigned iMac are also set to feature this powerful chip. Industry expert Mark Gurman from Bloomberg suggests that the new iMac could arrive early next year. The iMac will likely retain the same design as the 2020 model but benefit from the faster M3 chip.
MacBook Air M2: Still a Strong Contender
Apple’s latest 15-inch MacBook Air, released in June 2023, remains a strong contender in the laptop market. The device features an 8-core central processor and a 10-core graphics processor. Thanks to these specs, it delivers up to 1.4 times better performance than the previous MacBook Air M1 model. Additionally, the MacBook Air with M2 chip offers up to 24GB of memory, a 2TB solid-state drive, and up to 18 hours of battery life. Prices start at 10,499 yuan for the 8GB+256GB version and 11,999 yuan for the 8GB+512GB version.
