The event’s theme was the first half of the Born to Draw Digital Creation Competition, titled “Drawing Colors, Natural Strokes.” Users and creators are invited to “draw” with nature. This is done through Huawei’s self-developed drawing software – Tiansheng Hua, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch, and the Starlight stylus. Together, they will create an “urban ecological map” to stimulate creativity.
Additionally, users can follow Huawei’s official video. They can also join a special sketching class with teachers and students from the China Academy of Art. This class offers an opportunity to experience the joy of incorporating nature into paintings. It also shows how technology can present nature and raise awareness of biological diversity protection.
In this event, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch demonstrated strong creative power. It can be called the “boundless tablet” with master-level creativity. The extremely narrow 3.4mm bezel creates an ultra-high screen-to-body ratio of 94%. This makes the 13.2-inch flexible OLED screen appear “borderless,” giving creators unlimited vision. It features more realistic and natural brushes handmade by the China Academy of Fine Arts. The brushes have both form and spirit, aligning with the creative habits of Chinese users. The app also includes a rich brush library and an immersive canvas, enhancing the painting experience. The Fangtian Painting Engine supports more layers, ultra-low latency, and ultra-high frame rates. This brings a smooth, seamless painting experience. When paired with the Star Flash Pen, it delivers a professional-level digital writing and drawing experience.
Laboratory data shows that the latency of the ShenShengDrawing app on the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch is as low as 15ms, while the Procreate app on the iPad Pro 12.9-inch is 30ms. In comparison, the ShenShengDrawing app has half the latency, far exceeding Procreate.
Not only that, the Tianshenghua App supports AI intelligent selection, quick operation gestures, convenient drawing tools, willow pens, China Academy of Art customized color cards, and more, offering a smarter creative experience. Users can select layer content by clicking and box selection. For complex scenes, users can select the target area through multiple interactions. Of course, ecological linkage is a natural advantage of the Shengshenghua App. Hanging Eco’s new free multi-window, super transfer station, multi-screen collaboration, and more help link with mobile phones, PCs, and other terminals, breaking physical boundary restrictions and making color selection easier. According to the China tablet market quarterly tracking report for Q1 2024 released by IDC, Huawei shipped 2.59 million tablets during the quarter. This performance secured Huawei’s position as the leader in China’s tablet market share, surpassing Apple by more than 10 percentage points. With the arrival of the Born to Draw App, Huawei tablets are challenging the iPad’s dominance in professional creation. The Born to Draw App is now in public beta, and Huawei has pre-installed it on the MatePad Pro 13.2-inch Roland Purple. Users of other versions and the MatePad Pro 11-inch 2024 models can upgrade to HarmonyOS 4.2 to access the app. Huawei will support upgrades for the MatePad 11.5″S before July 30, with HarmonyOS version 4.2 pre-installed along with the Shengshenghua App. Stay tuned for official information on more models.
