[ Tinydeal Technology News]NVIDIA is causing concern with its GPU delays, as the company has informed its partners that it will postpone the original Blackwell GPU release plan, now targeting early 2025. The unexpected delay, driven by design flaws, has raised worries about the impact on the release timeline.
It is reported that this batch of chips may face a delay of more than three months. NVIDIA GPU delays is customizing B100 and B200 chips for global technology giants such as Meta, Google, and Microsoft. This delay will undoubtedly have a big impact on these giants.
Troubleshooting and correcting design defects was not easy, which directly led to serious delays.
According to people familiar with the matter, Nvidia may postpone Blackwell’s main shipment plan to the first quarter of 2025.
However, Nvidia has been vague about this. The company only stated that production is “expected to increase” at the end of 2024. Given the timing, this seems like an indirect confirmation of a release in early 2025.
So far, the delays are affecting only Nvidia’s enterprise-grade GPUs, which play a key role in AI acceleration for data centers. However, Nvidia may also delay the consumer version of Blackwell, including the RTX 50 series.
It’s important to note that while Nvidia’s consumer GPUs won’t use the same chip as the $70,000 AI graphics card, Blackwell’s architecture is compatible with both. Therefore, the severity of the design flaws will directly determine the fate of the RTX 50 series. Reports suggest that Nvidia may also postpone the RTX 50 series until 2025. This may be a direct reflection of the impact of design flaws.
