According to reports, Apple’s new product releases may be announced at another event in October this year, when the company is expected to unveil new Macs and iPads.
People familiar with the matter said that Apple plans to announce the first batch of M4 Macs and new entry-level iPads at its next launch event “in the coming weeks.” This year, Apple is expected to update the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini with M4 series chips. In 2025, Apple will update the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro.
Apple may release new products next month
According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple will equip the new M4 Mac series with at least 16GB of RAM as standard. This will include the basic 14-inch MacBook Pro, new Mac mini, and new iMac. Apple’s new product releases base Macs have come with 8GB of RAM for the past eight years. This upgrade is undoubtedly a welcome change.
MacBook Pros typically come with the latest chips, so an M4 upgrade makes sense. After updating to M3 in the fall of 2023, the launch of the M4 version is almost inevitable.
As for the Mac Mini, rumors suggest that the new Mac Mini may have a more compact design and launch in an M4 version, and possibly even an M4 Pro model.
The 24-inch iMac was upgraded to the M3 chip in November 2023 and is expected to transition to M4 soon. In addition, there is news that the iMac may be equipped with a larger 32-inch display.
Apple usually updates the iPad alongside the iPhone, and the last update occurred in the fall of 2022. This year, the new iPad is expected to receive a chip upgrade to support Apple Intelligence. Additionally, Apple has not updated the iPad Mini for three years, so chip upgrades are expected.
